About This Experience

A 3-hour guided trek from the Chiosco Bar Mareneve at Piano Provenzana on Etna's north side, past the hotel buried by the 2002 lava to the craters of the 2002 eruption, with insurance.

• Transport service from your accommodation to the starting point of the excursion
• Trekking sticks
• Parking ticket (€5 for the entire day on weekdays and €8 on Sundays and public holidays.)
• Snacks
• Bottled water
• Trekking shoes (to rent on the spot at authorized rentals at a cost of 5 to 7 € per pair)
• Windbreaker (to be rent on the spost at authorized rentals at a cost of 5 euro)
• Gloves or hats (especially in winter, spring, and autumn)
• Snowshoes during the winter months (December, January, February, and March) are to be rented on-site at a cost of 12 € per person

Good to Know

• The trek is reserved for hikers with medium training. You must be, in any case, careful, since the volcanic soil can often be inconsistent and unstable
• This activity requires a minimum of 4 participants in total.
• This trekking tour is not recommended for those who do not participate in any regular physical activity.
• The route consists of the ascent and walking along the crater edges, this may cause dizziness to susceptible individuals.
• The excursion could be subject to variations at the discretion of the guides, or it can be interrupted in case of changes in the environmental, climatic, or volcanic conditions.
• The total time of the trekking trail will depend on the general pace.
• Without adequate shoes, you are not covered by insurance.
• In case of snow, you are recommended to rent snowshoes on the spot, at a cost of 12 euros per person.
• Please note that gloves and hats in winter are not included, so please bring your own.

Meeting Point

Please join your tour at the Chiosco Bar Mareneve, not the Chiosco Bar Etna Nord, which is located in the lower parking lot. This meeting point is located near the chairlift used by skiers in winter and is the second house of the 4 present in the parking lot. The parking ticket will cost 3 euros and will be paid for after the excursion.
